City of Ashland Erosion Control Project

Soil erosion on the entry road, parking lot and boat ramp at Watershed Site 3 has been a constant problem for the City of Ashland. Watershed Site Number 3 is the source of municipal water for the cities of Ashland and Lineville. The structure is one of more than 106 watershed structures that were constructed by the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service more than 40 years ago throughout the state for flood prevention and erosion control. SIFAT and City of Ashland Maintenance Dept. donated 271 hours of volunteer time. The check presentation was held at the Coosa Valley RC&D Annual Meeting.
